I'm very lucky in that I have an airconditioned server room all to myself so my bikes live there during the day, dries them off nicely. I have more of an issue when I arrive home wet ^_^

hmmm, I think our lives must run in parallel..

We both have a Boardman CX (according to your signature)

if its carbon youll need to get rid soonish! i'll happy take it off your hands before it crumbles into dust

A bucket of soapy water will wash most of the rain and road spray off. Just throw the water over the bike by swinging the bucket.

To wash off the soapy water, leave the bicycle outside. If it's still raining, any rain will rinse off the soapy water.

However, your bicycle will now be covered with rain. This will need to be removed.

Take a bucket and fill it with soapy water....

I hope this will help, but I fear it will not.

I just grab a handful of blue roll (loads to be found in every corner of my work premises) and give the lights a quick dry, in case the water seeps in.
Sometimes, if the rain was really heavy, I undo the brake quick release and whipe the rims a bit, so that when it's time to ride home the brakes are dry.

I find that my PA gets the hint once I leave it propped up against his desk.......he likes the touch of baby wipes and gives my carbon some loving care and attention - then he hangs it up on my wall for me to admire!!!!^_^

Haha, yes I have a CX!

Mine is in a bike shed when I get home though. Although if it's too wet I do erm, dry it in the extension....lol

What does everyone do when they arrive at work with a soaking wet bike? My bike is kept in the basement car park but I dont like it sitting there for 8 hours whilst its all wet.

You can't have much going on in your day to be worrying about this. This is a wind up right?

Mine is parked in the open exposed to sun and rain and anything else that falls from the sky or is in the air.

I normally dab mine down with an Egyptian luxury hand towel, before gently massaging the frame with Oil of Olay. I'd love to treat the tyres to an exfoliating scrub as well, but to be frank we're quite busy in work and I haven't got time to be pissing about.

Gotta go with cranky on this one, mine might be undercover in a bike shed but i am more concerned about getting dry myself , the bike is not going to fall apart from getting wet if your doing your regular maintenence + lube routine .
Can`t see how wiping the rims is going to help , if they are not dry after over 9 hours they are not going to get any drier.
Unless you have OCD like a few on here a bikes meant to be ridden , mine gets cleaned once a week whether it needs it or not

Spray some gt85 on the chainset, cassette and chain when you get to work if it's been hammering it down. Wipe rims and Apply a little chain oil before you leave to ride home. The rest of the bike will be fine.

I say to whoever's on the cycle desk "my bike's wet, it's making those funny noises again" and when I come back it's ready to go.
