I am not happy!
Just had a call, expecting it was to be told my bike is ready. No.
They can't get it as it's sold out everywhere! They offered me another couple of options which I'm not sure about.
If I want a refund I have to trail all the way over to Glasgow to do that and then I'm back to square one with the bike.
SO frustrated!

What I would do, FWIW: Get on the next train to Glasgow, go into Evans and cause a fuss in front of as many potential customers as possible, then take the money and head up to Dales at Dobies loan (or Alpine bikes nearby at the Glasgow outdoor centre, and another branch down at St. Georges Cross near the underground station). Alpine for Trek, Dales for Specialized.
Then, it goes without saying, avoid Evans like the plague. The tyre recommendation on the other thread - Evans link was for window shopping purposes only. If you decide to buy them, do so elsewhere!

The other thing is I will have to get the money refunded to my card, which takes 24 hrs. It means although I can go and look at other bikes, I can't buy/order anything else until the money is back in my account.
Which in turn means ANOTHER trip to Glasgow.
I can't say how angry I am right now!

Don't they have a display bike in the shop you can get for a knock down price? Mate of mine was lucky that way once.

My partner on the other hand went on the cycle to work scheme so after she picked her bike phoned the shop (Perth scotland) and asked how long it would take only to get a call back later saying they didn't have the medium in there ware house and the computers where wrong. Now I hadn't delt with these guys before as I have my preferred shop in dundee. And the problem was we couldn't just take the voucher els whare because it has the name and address of the shop on it. so I call my trusty dundee bike shop and ask them. Yes we have the bike and don't worry about the voucher we will build the bike and you can collect it tomorrow ( it was late in the evening) went online and changed the details. Done

I won't and havnt delt with the shop in Perth. Now i guide anyone looking to buy new to my fab little shop in dundee  I hate bad service lol
You will get your bike before you know it.

Amazing how that works. When they want to take money OUT of YOUR account, they only need a few details off the card over the phone, and bingo, the money is gone and into THEIR account.
When a refund is needed as in your case, they need to physically see the card and you need to wait 24 hours for the transaction to take effect? FFS, I am getting really hacked off with how things work (or rather, don't work) in this country!

That's rubbish! I like Evans for kit and parts, but wouldn't buy a bike from them

I'd be demanding the next model or two up for the same price. What hard tails do they have in stock in your size?
