I saw something similar to this yesterday in an antique shop.

What do you think. Tasteful or naff?

Things can be both. It's in the eye of the beholder. I designed the interior of a £90million super-yacht in art deco style, down to designing the carpets (and getting Lalique to make the bar/ dining room doors)..........yet quite dislike it as a style. My view is that there is a reason art deco only lasted 20 years.

Very nice!

Of course, you'll have to adjust your wardrobe to suit...

What do you mean "adjust"?

To be serious for a moment, one problem with Art Deco furniture and interiors is that they only look good when perfect. After a few biffs they can look very shabby indeed. More "traditional" furniture tends to acquire a patina and scratches and dings add character once they've been polished a bit.
