Well it happened!!

19 weeks to the day that a small bundle of noise and lungs burst into our lives, he went on his first bike ride in his trailer round Ladybower reservoir!!! He was really good....slept through most of it and didn't complain at all.

Me? Loved every second, although it's SUCH HARD WORK!!! I shall be fit again in no time!!

The moment before the off. Arthur looking considerably less excited than I am.

Arthur wasn't exactly thrilled by this cycling malarky....

What a fab day!!! I'm so excited. Touring, here we come! For now though, we'll spend the afternoon watching the Sound of Music...

19 weeks - I'd have expected you to have him peddaling his own bike by now!

Well done. LEJOG with a baby trailer next?

Excellent Cathryn, good to see. You're an optomist though, where are you going to pack all the nappies and baby jars if you tour? I often thought about it when mine were that age but I was too sleep deprived to ever do it, I suspect you're made of sterner stuff ;)

I did once see a couple on a tandem, bike seat on back, towing a tag-a-long with a stash of panniers, riding along on Arran.

I was only thinking last week - when I visited when Oli was little, everytime we went out there was a huge bag of paraphenalia, layers of clothes, did he need mittens etc. Now Max is little, he slots into the special bit under the pushchair, and all he needs goes in sis's handbag...

Brilliant pics Cathryn:biggrin: - I hope we'll see Arthur on a CC ride this summer!

I think we'll be good for touring... there's shedloads of space in the trailer (it's a 2 baby trailer) and we can always have front and back panniers. Weight is the only issue...he was heavy enough today!! He does have a lot of accoutrements, I agree!!!

yep, you can spot a first-time parent a mile off; loads of stuff they don't need stuffed into a bag you'd think belonged to a student off to uni.

with our last, a packet of wipes, nappy and a (baby's) bottle of milk was enough for most occasions.
