Yes I can, Yes I am, Yes I did...Repeat.
I'm looking for some new tyres. I want them to have the same puncture protection as schwalble durano+ which I currently use in Cyprus, but would like them to roll faster if possible. I know it's always a trade off but just wondered if anyone has suggestions for a really solid/puncture 'proof' road tyre (23 or 25 700c) which isn as heavy as the durano plus, and is a 'slick' race style tyre ......basically I want to go faster without punctures...dont we all....Any links much appreciated.

Cheers

My contis cut very easily, one was binned after the first ride. They're fast but not as hard wearing as durano+.

Krylions or the new equivalent will be faster rolling but I'm still stuck to using durano plus or duranos.

Mine have been spot on, best tyre i have ever had.

My Duranos that came with the bike didnt last at all.

I guess i depends on what the local roads are like.

I guess it's pot luck. I'm not going to praise my current tyres too much, tempting fate.

I don't think you'll beat Durano for the combination of speed and puncture protection. They do cut up a bit right from the first ride but the integrity of the tyre doesn't seem to suffer. I did over 2000 miles on them last winter and won't hesitate to put them back on when the weather turns grizzly.

You could always try durano s which are faster but less puncture resistant ?

Ah, the debate on tyre preference rolls again... Could we not have a sticky or something outlining the popular choices and their pros/cons? Not having a go at you @BigonaBianchi or anyone else on this thread, but it's a subject which pops up frequently and never seems to get resolved (nor will it, really).

We've got nothing better to do tonight.

At least it's not a helmet thread or commuting near miss:whistle:

Schwalbe tyres have always cut up badly on our local roads IME, I do like them but they seem to be a softer compound than Conti's and just not practical for round here.

I stick to Conti Gatorkins now and touch wood have never had an issue.
I have gatorskins on my shopping/runaround bike and I have to admit they have been very reliable. One puncture in 10 months.
