Helen's bike is making a woop woop noise from the front disc since changing a tube a couple of weeks ago. Im sure it just needs a re-jiggle, but it got me thinking about maintenance. So just out of interest, how often does the fluid in these brakes need to be bled/changed?

If it's working fine I'd leave it alone - when performance drops it's time.

Thanks, makes sense. The brakes are still rubbing/whining and are worse when warm. Dont really know how to solve it

Check the wheel is installed fully into the dropouts best do with the bike the right way up, if thats ok you'll have to ajust the calliper a tad.

Set wheel in the tabs firmly if you haven't already.
Loosen the caliper using the allen bolts holding it to the frame. Hold brake on. Tighten Caliper allen bolts.

Job done.

Major disk brake maintenance done!

You shouldn't need to bleed the brake unless you get an air lock in the system - that's easy to tell because the brake will feel spongy when you use it.
