Hey all
I've just arrived from Australia MTB in hand looking to do some touring and MTB'ing through the UK and Europe. Hopefully I can get some insight into places to go and see while here

Cheers

G'day Skip,

Welcome to the UK currently undergoing some kinda rain stopped play situation. Don't know which parts of the UK you are planning on visiting, but once you have got the sight seeing bit in London over, head out to our green (waterlogged) and pleasant land and enjoy.
I have not doubt some of our MTB boys on here will point you in the right direction.

Enjoy yourself

Kev

Thanks for the welcomes, if I end up Windsor I'll be sure to let you know! Once I work out where that is

I'm from East Coast of Queensland, close to the gold and sunshine coast. The weather is quite different up here I've found, I'll probably have to get used to riding in the rain by the looks of it. I'm in London atm but can't wait to get out to the country

Out west of London just past Heathrow airport. Queenie (god bless her) has a rather large place out there (a castle).
I am from the midlands, we have this Aussie from Brisbane that comes out on our runs (we are roadies)........strong bugger!!!! He seems to have a bit of a good job working between the UK, Europe and residing back in sunny Oz. He has been back there since last autumn, expect to see him pop up again soon.
Not over clued up about MTB scene down south but Wales and northern England would be good.........loads of hills etc.

The royal castle at windsor of course, I knew the name was familiar. Sounds look a good day trip out from London I'll have to check it out.

Though I don't have a road bike it'll be good to chat to an Aussie from familiar territory. By the sounds of it I'm going to have to head up norh like you said to get the decent MtB trails, I was stoked when I heard you have actual MTB parks with graded runs, sounds unreal!

If I'm here long enough I might look into getting a road bike, the Coast to coast would be good fun

Have you hit the Tasmin Trail around Richmond Park yet? Only 7 or so miles and shared so more of a warm-up but you'll see loads of deer.
A friend did the Taff Trail from Brecon down to Cardiff a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Great start to a weekend of hedonism.
