if you get the bike wet/dirty you should wash it asap like after a ride or atleast make sure the chain/cassette/big ring-middle ring-small ring are cleaned to remove old lubrication then add new lubrication. also clean the brake or brake disc or rims but it isnt really neccessary, but when washing your bike make sure you clean everything throughly and i would dry it to every part, you might go why, but it will stop rusting and when applying lubrication it will work more effectively and last longer. i have advice for chain/cassette/big ring-middle ring maintenance in another thread if you want it i will get ya it. also i always pump my tires up before each ride as well if you dont it will take you longer from a-b unless your riding over cobbles in belgium i would keep them topped up to bout 60psi(depending on terrain i will lower accordingly) for mtb and 115psi for road bike.
