I like the one with the crawling little bug, whose is that one, can anyone remember?
Just spotted it myself, it's hackbike 666's. I did remark once, that I kept on wanting to swat it .... ;)

I have a fairly large-ish gallery to choose from now, built up over the years (I've used only my own, never pinched an image from another astro), so I decided to go for a slide show, for the present. Why don't those of you, who can't decide between your fave avatars, do likewise? I tried to put in a 'fade' between slides but it makes the file too big - at least, it does in GIF format. So I'll stay with what I've got.

Mine is a photo of a road sign in Belvoir Castle grounds not a description of pupils at my school.
If I changed it would all my past posts then have the new avatar or would they stay the same and only new post have new one?

Seen that sign or similar, in lots of places. There must be a lot of slow children about (along with all the 'heavy plants' crossing):biggrin::biggrin:

The change would affect all your posts, even the old ones made prior to the avatar change. This feature makes a thread like this confusing if you re-visit it after people have subsequently changed their avatars again. But I believe that this can't be helped.

If you change your avatar, all your past posts get the new one.
Same with the sig line.

Pete, maybe you have the solution to my "avafickleness"...how do you have a revolving avatar?

My son is the expert on creating animations, rather than me, but he's far too busy at the moment (exams!). I don't really have the know-how to turn a single image into a revolving animation.

However if you already have a series of still frames which you want to assemble into an animation, there are various tools that will do that for you. PM them to me if you're stuck.

I'd noticed you were going through some changes recently!

I've had two over the time I have been on here. My original was a surface rendering of my brain. Yes of my actual brain (working in MRI has its uses!). Then a certain goo mason did a wee Captain Cameraman sketch for me, which appealed (in a taking the wee out of myself kinda way, which I like), so it has been this ever since.

When people change their avatars too often it gets confusing!!!:smile:

Your brain one was one of my favourite avatars maggers.

I had my MRI knee avatar for years but got bored and changed to the great Narrwich City legend Ruel "foxxy" Fox to celebrate our promotion.

It does take a while to get used to people changing. When dell went from Beau Brummell to Hristo Stoichkov it was a bit of a transformation.
