I turned forty this year and decided I needed to burn a little of the spare tyre that seems to have grown over the last 10 years or so.
When I was young(er) I did a lot of cycling but when I moved t'up Norf 12 years ago I stopped. I dont know if it is the Northern air but it certainly seems harder cycling up here than I remember it down South! I started cycling home from work just after christmas (20 miles) just once a week to start with but now normally 3 times a week and if I can get out of bed in time I sometimes cycle in. I have lost a stone in weight and hope to lose the same again before Christmas to bring me down to 12 stone which is what I weighed when I used to cycle in my heyday.
I currently ride a Cube sl cross hybrid, but after using it in the Manchester to Blackpool ride last night I am tempted to rebuild my Battaglin road bike back up and use that.
