I take it you are something to do with the industry? You seem to be more knowledgeable than I am on these things, I'd been reading broadband reviews for a while when I posted and it all seemed as clear as mud, my minds clearer now.
As I said earlier what are you really wanting from your broadband? Wanting higher speeds e.g. you have 4Mbs now and it'd be nice to have say 10Mbs. Download 2Gb per month? 20Gb? 150Gb? Or do you just browse? How far do you live from your exchange? What sort of LLU can you get? Can you get fibre? Is it mostly price you're bothered about? I'm not really seeing what you want different, which is why I'm saying all of this stuff. It's not to be awkward.
It looks like you are on Foleshill, Keresley or the Exhall exchange. Keresley is a bit limited for options whereas the foleshill exchange is very much better for LLU and is even getting fibre to the cabinet in about a year
. If you're one of the unluckier urban dwellers a bit further away from your exchange, or it's very busy or something else like a lot of aluminium (like round here) if you have the certain usage habits you might be better getting a service that uses fttc when it arrives (assuming you're willing to pay that much). Some areas round there even get virgin media, but as is the case it's very patchwork which properties can get it in any area.Me? I use virgin (on net). I would recommend Be. Zen were also very good. The main problem with virgin is the throttling and that it's best if you buy in a bundle with 2/3/4 services. If you want good customer service I'd recommend Plusnet, but they deliver a fairly poor end product imho at the cost of 'customer service' being good.
