Maybe, but like I say, it's less likely than him trying to miss it.

If a rabbit runs out you don't have much time to think, the response would be virtually automatic, and the instinct would most likely be to brake or swerve to miss it. The fact that he hit it does not mean that was his intention. I don't know if you've ever tried to run over a small object with the wheel of a car, a drinks can or something, but it's not easy. You can't see the wheels, it's difficult to line them up precisely, so if he'd tried to hit the rabbit he'd probably have missed it! I've hit a dog, a bird etc and believe me, you do not have time to think about whether you want to hit it or not.

The worst thing about these things is having that mental picture in your head that you know will be there far years. The rabbit is gone but you'll be reliving its death for ages. That doesn't help does it? ;0)

Upsetting to witness, true, but a rabbit doesn't quite have the same impact as driving around Lagos and seeing humans all smashed up or as flat as a carpet on the road. That really is nasty. Nobody wants to go and help them because of the possibility of expense and the bad juju so if not killed outright they can die slowly for lack of attention and will lie there all day until the council truck comes round. They get killed either trying to cross the road or thrown off a bridge by a lynch mob.

If I won the lottery I would endow a free clinic and ambulance service for street people in Lagos.
