We have an 8 week old little girl and are struggling when it comes to walking. We have 2 dogs and love going out for long walks but with our current pram set we find it quite a mission. We are looking for a decent carrier so after personal recommendations. It should be:
1. Easy to use; the gf needs to be able to put it on herself if she wants to go walking on her own during the day.
2. Ideally would like one that we can use until she is old enough to learn to walk.

Not fussed on price, would rather buy once for something decent. Thanks.

Do I need to get the spray plaster out?
Try a sling, there might even be a "sling group" group in your area that is like a library where you can borrow them to try.

I tried different carriers and found them all a pain, but the sling was so useful up until they were about 2 yrs as they help when you have them on your hip to take a bit of weight, after 2 they have legs and can walk with the dog in this house

I used the Babasling. http://www.thebabasling.com/

It is easier to get on and off when you are one your own and find the position you like best to carry the little one.

There are so many -wrap, ring, pouch, mei tie, ergo.
I think looking for a forum with that speciality would be a good first step.
I'd avoid anything like the tomy or baby bjorn "suspend them by their crotch" type personally but beyond that it's probably a case of trying a few for size.

Sorry can't help akb as it's 25 years since we got ours [though it's seems like yesterday!]
As long as you get one so that they can see over the top of your shoulders and steer you by your ears...
