So Mrs Wigs and I have had 3 boys and she is expecting our next in May (ish) we will find out next week the sex of the baby but at her amniosentesis at 14 weeks I am sure we saw the signs of another boy!

We have had a girls name reserved for the last 4 years but are at logger heads over boys names. We have used all family names and names we liked for the last 3.

Any ideas?

You need to tell us what the first three are called, 'cos you're so sensible you'll already have called them our first suggestions.....B)

I have been doing my family tree over recent years and find that there are lots of James' on both sides. I wish I'd have known that 17 years ago when we had our son. He is an Oliver, but he would have suited James as well. We have a Katy too if that's any use to you!!

Sixties England cricketers - I like the way you're thinking Wigsie!!

In that case, how about Barrington, Snowy, Edrich, Milburn......need I go on.....I think we've cracked it. Let's hope it's quads!

Finley and Finlay may get a bit confusing! B) Imogen is our first reserve name for a girl!

both finlay and luca would have been imogen but for their noodley appendages. mrs alecetc knows i love the name but just to murky the waters is the fact that fin's best (and girl) friend is of the same name. of course at only 7 (and the fact that their elder siblings attend separate high schools) it's unlikely that this baby and she would end up with exactly the same names. that said, they seem so perfectly matched that you just never know…

still, i'm still not going to be easily swayed…

I find the resurgence of some of the Old Testament names interesting (Noah, Elijah, Caleb). When you actually read the stories, Noah doesn't come across too well in his old age (passing out drunk naked), Caleb does OK and Elijah is generally OK if a bit wacky.
