Hello peeps,
Well, I'll start with my name.... Lee, bet you'd never guess that from my user name!
I came across this site while looking for answers to various questions, some good advice found so I thought I'd join in.
About me, bought a Pinnacle hybrid 2 years ago with the intention of improving my fitness for a forthcoming challenge (Three Peaks) but never really got into it so it sat in the garage for a good while. Every year a group of us take on a challenge of some sort, last year was canoeing the Great Glenn which was fantastic. This year's is cycling coast to coast, St. Bees, Cumbria to Robin Hood's bay (172 miles in 3 days) soooooo, I thought it best that I get on my bike! I started in January, loved it and have since bought a MTB (Pinnacle Iroko one, great bike) & a more recently a road bike (Btwin Triban 5, again, I like it!). I'm clocking up a few miles on the Triban now, when I get chance that is, started off doing 20 miles or so without too much fuss, now doing 40+ fairly comfortably, hills are still a major problem though
The really good thing is I'm now down to just below 13 stone, I've not been there for quite a while. I'm 45 and find losing & keeping weight off is very hard, pedalling is the answer it seems
I feel much better for it too. I'm not pulling up any trees with my times, etc. but I'm quite happy with my progress so far. C2C is going to be tough I know, I just need to take my time I think. I've got a nice 50 mile run planned for Sunday, looking forward to it.
I'm now looking for a bike for my wife, she seems quite keen to join in with all this fun I'm having.
