So as pete the roadbike has gone back to the owner I'm having to go out on the MTB...... jesus ******** christ did i notice a difference! it was like getting out of a jet plane and jumping on a skooter.

thanks. it was recorded a couple weeks back so 20 something of Jan, havent been out on the bike for a while i would have had this edited and uploaded ages ago but have had a mad time with work so no cycle days :-(

Fair enough! I've been turboing and grabbing the odd ride in the evening and weekend where it fits in with family life. It is a struggle getting the miles in this time of year I find though.

yeah definitely. i've managed to get the roadbike back and took it out sunday. driving rain but some spectacular views.

Replacing what sound like nobblies on the MTB for slicks or semi-slicks if you're staying on hard/compacted surfaces might make life easier. Nobbly noise annoys me.

Speeds also drop in the cold/wet anyway.

you'd think so. I borrowed the mrs' hybrid a while back. Slicks, bigger wheels and a slightly bigger crank. timing was exactly the same as the MTB...... voodoo perhaps?
