Just browsing around earlier today and spotted this amazing deal on a Garmin Edge 800 performance bundle (includes HR monitor & cadence monitor).
Posted it on facebook and a few people were thankful, so I thought I'd post it here in case anyone still has any money left to spend after Christmas!
Just £209. Cheapest I've ever seen it.

Why just after Christmas though?

I love my Garmin 800 with City Maps, well worth whatever i paid for it earlier this year.

The link above is for the Garmin 800 with ONLY base maps, that are pretty useless, to use the turn by turn direction sat nav you need the better maps that are normally around £100.

Or you could use an OpenStreetMap set (cost only the price of a Micro SD card).

Ages'n'ages. And then you stop at a petrol station, and buy some new ones and a pint of milk to drink (and maybe a pie). Well it works for me.
What he said. I get about 24 hours out of a set of AAs (although I mainly use rechargeables for day long rides).

Only thing I need a quality mount for my bike to use it

Look at the RAM mounts but only buy the cage part. I then file a semicircular groove in the base, drill a couple more holes and then cable tie it to the stem over an old bit of inner tube.
Is it worth paying the extra 30-40 quid for the Etrex 30?
Not sure. Iirc the differences really amount to a barometric altimeter and a compass. The 20 will give you height and heading but based purely on the map you're using.

I'll look into that, the Etrex 20 is coming up later today (Sat) on the Amazon deals offer..
I had the newish Etrex 10 but birthday money allowed an upgrade to the 30 plus instead of buying the ridiculously priced Garmin OS maps, I got to use the maps I have linked to back up the thread....

Depending what model you go for some units are bundled with a 1:50000 GB OS map. If you need more you can then download segments of 1:25000 via Garmin Select. I just got 1500sq km for £17 which I thought was ok.

What's the battery life like with the Etrex20?
It depends. If you use the brightest screen on constant and they drain quickly, set up with a low brightness screen and they'll last a few days I've found. Better still, as I only use it for unfamiliar places, I switch it off till I get lost. Lasts even longer that way, and I only use it when I need it. (Also, I use rechargeable batteries, so 4 fully charged ones will last me a few days constant use (think LEL), and more in a touring environment, till I can get to a plug socket. IMO the Etrex 20 is nigh on perfect for all day/night Audaxing. Low setting at night on an unlit lane is perfectly visible. I find you have to get your 'zoom' just right, so you get a good idea of where you are as a whole, and also an idea of approaching landmarks/junctions. 1 drawback I have found is the screen isn't the largest, so some people may struggle with reading the map on the move. I had a carp holder for it, and it vibrated a lot. Have since got the solid/stem version and now the display is rock steady. Loads of interweb places to download maps and tracks. Perfect touring/audax GPS. Not as 'bells and whistles' as say the Garmin 800 or MIO 505, but it does what a tourer/Audaxer needs - It tells you where you are, how fast you're going, elevation, what time to the next destination/hill/landmark/waypoint,POI, what time to the finish.
