I'd never seen a live one until last year when I saw three in the space of a couple of months.

The first one I saw was on a cycle path in Edinburgh, I think my bright lights startled it and it started running along the path in front of me caught in the beam of my light. I freewheeled behind it for about 50 yards before it ran into the undergrowth, probably totally knackered - the top speed of this badger was a surprising 14 mph!

I've never saw one alive in the wild

Normally see loads of dead badgers while im playing trains all day.

They tend to try and burrow under the 750v Juice Rail and get fried.

There used to be one on the Blackamoor MTB route, in the peaks, outside Sheffield. Had a rep for running out of the bushes at you. Apparantly it encouraged some to get personal bests at acceleration!
