Can't believe how much I'm craving beans on toast now. It's like curry, as soon as someone mentions it you NEED it.

My advice, as a long-time cyclist is: go for a ridiculously long (and scenic) bike ride. Then when you return home, eat whatever you want! (and it will taste really, really good)

so a BIG YES to baked beans

I imagine hot beans on a cold crispy lettuce bed would be quite an interesting sensation with or without the spud. I'd fancy rough chopped tangy hard salad items mixed into the beans just before serving for a bit of crunch & a sprinkle of grated cheese. Some honey glaze roasted parsnip & beetroot to accompany it for a sweet hit too & hmmmmm.

Salad with baked potato & beans is fine in my book. Not sure I'd put a salad next to beans on toast though.

As a further twist, I always order a side salad with my curry
