I spent all of yesterday servicing one of my internally cabled bikes. I spent ages getting everything spot on.
All stripped down.
Mountains of bits and bobs.
I got the job done, all recabled, new BB, new chain, new cassette, re taped the bars, indexed the gears, and all looked fine. Then I pulled the rear brake. Oh dear. Because of the strange set up on this bike ( direct mount rear brake mounted on the chain stays) it’s difficult to tell if you’ve got the barrel adjuster cabled securely ( it’s up by the handlebars). As I pulled the rear brake lever, the outer cable shifted out of the barrel adjuster, and showed that I was about an inch short of outer. Oh well, that’s another PITA job to do again then.
