No, I don't click on strange links.

I have 2 sickles myself and think the average motorcyclist is even more of a prat on the road than the average cyclist.

Summary then;
Random guy joins motorcycle site, to promote ban the bike.

Doesn't get the response he expects.

OP turns into a personification of The Daily Mail, and posts some of the most ludicrous "cycling dangers" that I've seen.

He's spammed a couple of other cycling forums. His name and address have been found. He likes computer games and protein shakes.

From his website - a true story.

"
I fully support your aims! There are far too many cyclists on the roads where I live which are completely unsuitable for them to ride. On country lanes they refuse to move over when a car is behind them and on one day recently a cyclist hit my wing mirror as I squeezed past him despite my use of the horn to warn him. "

So, I am also a member on a large motorcycle forum
Seems a decent forum at first glance; so just registered!
Unusually for a biker forum, they have a cycling section.

And...?

It matters not what means by which you choose to get around. If you use the road you've a duty to observe the rule and not behave like a plank. Period.

The issue is in the way the campaign site presents this information. The 18 deaths are allegedly (by the original author), caused by lack of compulsory training, and identification. But totally misses that these things happen in much larger numbers, where there is training, licensing, and identification.

I love the three links they use as "proof": a typical whingy letter to a regional newspaper, a DM article about a cyclist riding and texting (something drivers with number plates never do) and an article detailing how Boris misspoke saying cyclist cause most accidents. That one is my favourite, as the link looks like it's about Boris saying it. I assume they googled, then copied the link without reading the article.

Those injuries must be a huge strain on the NHS - how do we convert them to confirmed kills?
