Go on, tilt your head!
Well if we did, we wouldn't be able to post here 'cos we'd be dead!

I did at the start of my career (although not quite to that extreme!)

70, 80, 90 hour weeks were not unsual. I left that behind a long time ago now as I realised that I wanted that thing known as "a life"...

don't they only need to do that for a year before they make a large bonus whilst driving the economy into the ground so that the said bonus goes further?

poor souls - still, greed is good

Worked 96-99 hour weeks, which didn't include either traveling to/from work or the required breaks. Hours worked over 5 &1/2 days.

For two years, a decade or so ago. I did a 9-5 job, then worked every evening at home till midnight or beyond, and every Sat and Sun 6am till nighttime (usu 11 or midnight). I wrote two books in that time, both published, one still sells well, and they got me a better job than I previously had

What were they about F?
To do with my job... prefer to keep that to myself on here, if OK with you. Happy to tell you if we ever meet up

I work 9-5 mon-fri no more no less. Have done for the 27 years of my working life. One has very little personal time as it is so I'm bolloxed if I'm spending any more time at work than I need to life is too short.

regularly when i was younger to get projects over the line . the longest shift ever done was from 7pm on the Thursday before Good Friday through to 8am on the Tuesday after the Easter Monday to get EHV, HV and LV switchgear swapped out in a production facility . was dead on my feet and a large amount of "stimulants" were consumed to keep people awake.

I refuse to do it now and get vocal about work life balance . There are the occasional overnighters/24hr shifts but nothing silly anymore

It's a bit more complicated than that...
No. But someone close to me did, and suffered a life-changing injury as a direct result. He was paid about the same for a full year's work as a banking intern would be for a summer.

That's one of the reasons why I make sure that I, and those who work for me, take proper breaks.
The list of reasons why long hours are counter-productive is endless.

I've done a couple of 20 hour shifts in the last few years, but those were because there was simply no-one else to cover. Not something I'd make a habit of. The overtime money's always nice. Doesn't sound like that's something banking interns have to look forward to though.
