My payout for my RTA last year has arrived at the solicitors. They want my bank details so they can transfer the money, but i don't want it paying into our joint account. Instead i'd rather it was put into my own Halifax account. The trouble is i only have a 4 years expired Halifax bank card. It's that long since i used the account, they've stopped sending me a monthly statement. The question is if the solicitors send the money to the Halifax will the account still be open for the money to be transferred? And if so will the Halifax contact me to let me know it's gone into my account?

Seriously, ask a bunch of cyclists or ask the bank themselves?

The card has a number on the back. I've phoned it and been fed music and "If you want so and so press 2" etc for the last 7 minutes! I thought their might be an ex bank manager on here maybe..
Don't ring 9am or lunchtime unless you like hold music. Later in the evening is often a good time b

Here for rides.
btw I expect your bank would have no problem in opening an internet savings account in your own sole name. Mine doesn't (Lloyds)
