Don’t worry it’s been done by the book. If their money gets swallowed up by a debt collector though it’s still very sad:

On the positive side, the person in question will have some of the burden lifted off them by using the inheritance to pay off their debts.

I used to think that after so many years you were allowed to receive inheritance. As seen as they’ve filed for it twice and probably have new debts now, they’re going to be in for a rude awakening.

A bankruptcy normally lasts 1 year with potentially 3 years of penalties. One done 8 years ago will not show up on most credit records (mortgage excepted).
