Cyclists and anyone who feels the need to squeeze into unflattering Lycra. Let's just ban them outright Monday to Saturday. Tell them they can have the roads all to themselves on a Sunday when nobody really needs to get anywhere anyway.

In particular stop them from using the A63, it's madness having cyclists racing down the dual carriageway with cars hurtling past at 70mph.

And a particularly nice comment:
Have to agree with Ian. In fact let's make cyclists in Lycra wear really bright colours. Makes it easier to hit them now the dark nights are closing in !!!

Really can't make my mind up if the article is a joke or not bearing in mind some of their stupid articles.

Unfortunately I cannot comment on the Hull Daily Mail articles as I am permanently banned for using the comments to criticise the publication (they enjoy freedom of the press, but I am not allowed freedom of speech if I criticise their poor journalism).

Yeah, all the same lot. Trinity Media > Local World > Your local newspaper. They recycle the same junk articles online quite a bit amongst their various titles.

No such thing as free speech on a commercial website - presumably you accepted the Ts & Cs when you signed up.
Indeed, I didn't say I had a right to free speech, just they'd chosen to not offer it (which is their right). I just find it ironic that the press, who needs an element of free speech to be able to report, deny their readers the same opportunity when it comes to making comments. I did agree to their T&C and House Rules. Nothing in there prohibits me disagreeing with their articles, but when I lost my accounts in each case I could see from my profile the comments that they removed were those I disagreed with content in their articles. Funnily enough, those comments had many "likes" so it was not a case of I was posting crazy things. They don't obey their own House Rules, funnily enough - they say they'll discuss with you the reason for suspending but they won't.

Regardless, I won't sleep over it. Just unfortunate I cannot defend cycling when it's necessary.

There's some consolation in the fact that the comments (or at least the first page of them) are overwhelmly saying that the article is stupid.
But sadly no consolation at all in the fact that the two pro cyclist posts (when I looked), one of which quite reasonably points out that a good deal of congestion is caused by parked cars, have been downvoted. I voted them back up again, but am only allowed one go (meh), so they are still negative. About what you'd expect I suppose when everyone is a car driver....

The writer is a dick. But he does have a point about the A63. I wouldnt ride on it.
Nor me, plenty of roads running in parallel; they do time trials on some sections of it. I am pretty sure some sections are forbidden too, assuming this sign is legal, which I am not sure as there is no full size sign forbidding cycles, just the little sign below which is very easily missed:
