Hi,
I'm just replacing bar stem on Peugeot carbolite 103.
Can anyone tell me the diameter measurements for where the stem bolts onto the handlebar.
I recently bought a new longer stem and fastening the handlebar to the headset the new stem is just the bit too large. When fully tightened to the handlebar it's just not tight enough and the handlebar still moves when fully tightened

It's to a French standard which is why you're having a problem. So a you'll need to find a French/ Peugeot stem, or appropriate bars.

I have had a similar problem in the past . I made a shim out of a coke can ( other drink cans will work) ,
it resulted it a firm fit I had no problem with .
[Edit] l should have explained I cut a strip out of the drinks can then wrapped that round the handle bar .some care should be taken the shim will have razor sharp edges .
If I recall correctly my problem was 25.2 handle bar centre with a 25.4 stem

Finally guys.
The bike needs a new BB, I have slight pay on the bottom bracket.

Do you know what BB the bike has fitted, so I can get one ordered?

Regards!

Your bike being a UK sold Carbolite should have a conventional English thread BB.
Make sure you get the correct spindle length (for double chainrings) BB width should be 68mm.
SJS have a good selection.
