i have a carerra vanquish, can anyone tell me the size of the head set bearings that i require, as the bike has been upgraded to tiagra hollow tech bottom bracket, 10 speed shifters . i am finding that the forks are loose in the frame

Lefty tighty. Get it righty.
I can't answer your question but if you read the link below you'll know a whole lot more about headsets

Or maybe you already know all that. Anyway, I found it interesting when I read it.

Yes, before you head for the 'replacement' route, just refit the stem correctly and see if that tightens things up. It is highly unlikely that the headset bearings on a bike like this have worn, unless it's been thrashed to within an inch of its life for years.
And noone will be able to answer your Q with the necessary assurance.

Have you done anything with the handlebars of late? The stem cap might not have been tightened correctly before stem bolts redone. Might be nothing wrong with headset bearings.

Indeed , I just had to take the slack out of the headset last week.
I find the bearings on headsets tend to get stiff and noise when they are worn rather than loose.
It also depends on which model vanquish you have as the different models did have different sizes bearings dependant on whether the fork has a straight or tapered head tube

thank you, it is a straight head tube. the carerra did have the race bearings, but have replaced them with sealed bearings, the bike has done in the region of 20000. miles, what with sportives and club rides. . has done me well as you can see
