absolutely f*cking tremendous..........now the red scum know how Blackpool felt last sunday............except that Blackpool turned up and made a game of it. ho ho ho

Mind you Barcelona are something else.

Well done! The best team wins by all accounts. Why does football need to generate comments like the above? It doesn't sound supportive or enjoyable to me... perhaps I'm missing something. Mangaman's football posts are equally full of passion and an enjoyable read for a mildly interested observer like me.
Roll on next season. When does that start - in a couple of weeks?

When Barca were in possession they looked like they had 12 players to Man U's 10, their movement and ability to find space is so good. The only way to combat a team like that is with a physical approach like the Dutch used against Spain in the World Cup and hope the referee is a bit lenient.

It doesn't make for very good game though does it. I'd prefer to see a team try and beat them by playing football instead of just stopping them play - though despite Arsenal inflicting one of their few defeats this season, that's shown to be a very difficult task too. But then again, while they've been lucky with some refereeing decision at times, I find the "lets help Barca" conspiracy laughable, and I'm a sucker for football being played for entertainment value rather than simply being about winning.

The fact is, for the past two years in succession (ignoring the Copa del Rey), Barcelona have only lost three games all season. They are a phenomenal team. Nice also to see that Alex Ferguson was able to hold his hands up and admit they weren't good enough and Barcelona were simply better. Despite all the nonsense about him being a manager who has to blame referees all the time, he's a million miles from being Arsene Wenger....

Exactly, and to Man U's credit, they didn't do this, which made for a really excellent game without much cynical play, which the best team won. That's how football should be...

I predict 3 - 1 to Barca.

There was a cruel comment by one of my City supporting FB mates about turning over to ITV+1 as it's still 1-1

A new banner is to be unveiled at Old Trafford today "19 TIMES"
It is in honour of how many times Man U touched the ball last night

Really interesting game. Just showed how far behind the best continental football the best Brisith football still is. Like watching Arsenal in their pomp a few years back carving up Bolton or Stoke...just in a different league. Man U weren't quite 4-4-2 jumpers for goal posts hack it up the middle and hope the big lad can get on the end of it...but not far off. It wasn't just that the best team won; the best team left the second best team chasing shaows for 90 mins. Where does Fergie's brand of footie go now, after a drubbing like that?
