I'm currently reading Mr.Allsop's book, "...Barring Mechanicals" and had a real pang of guilt last night at 00.23 when I finally turned the light out 72 pages in. I'd started reading when I went to bed and the more I read, the more I thought it'd be an injustice if I didn't read through the night and finish it when the book finished.

It's bloody gripping and a great read, I'd recommend it for anyone who doesn't know what they want for Christmas!

Downside is it's making me think a 'bent would be a good idea...

Really was a superb book (right rivetting read!) but it convinced me that a 'bent was a BAD idea.

I've got a signed copy from the man himself, and would add that ... YES ... it's a cracking read.

Oh, and did either of you get the urge to stuff tie-wraps in an envelope and post them off to Andy ... lol

Cheers,
Shaun

Ah... Friends.

Barring Mechanicals really is the gift that keeps on giving. Kind words pop up at the most unexpected of instances, and so often in the moment I need them most. The book has easily repaid the time and effort I put into writing it, and I only hope my helpers and readers feel the same sense of satisfaction that I am getting from it.

I could not, and would not have done it without the members of this forum, and I hope I am able one day to repay my debt to you all.

Thanks so much for posting this. I'll see you out there on the road some time.

Andy.

ps. A bent is a great idea. Just don't forget to save a few pennies for the essential additions to get you round..

Seconded (or should that be 7th-t?) ... a great read, I was recently thinking who else I could buy a copy for Christmas :becool: .

Any chance of another book soon, Mr. Allsopp? Pretty please?
