Bath lifts

A long shot but i wonder if anyone on here has any experience with bath lifts ?
I'm looking at getting one for my Mum but unsure what i am looking at . This one from Lloyds pharmacy http://www.lloydspharmacy.com/en/betterlife-mountway-splash-lightweight-bath-lift# is what i have been looking at but i cant tell if its any good or not .

Already spoken to the OT and she said if she was allowed to get my mum a bath lift she would but NHS cut backs wont allow her too . If we wanted to buy her one then they will work with it .
Mum hates showers !

My mum and dad went for the wet room option with a shower.
There’s plenty of room for handles and rails , with the benefit of no clutter, steps or hazards.

We tried a couple for lifts for my Mum. The first was rubbish, as she was sitting several inches above the bottom of the bath because the mechanism was quite bulky. The second was much better (and more expensive), comprising a kind of wide webbing strap (therefore very thin, attached to a motor bolted to the wall. The other end of the webbing is firmly anchored to the floor. Sit on webbing, press button, descend gracefully into the bath. When nice and clean, press the button and rise triumphant from the water. It also has water temperature sensor and remote control. SWL 127kg/20 stone.

I would have to agree that long term, a shower or wet room is a better option. Any shower should be big enough to accommodate a seat. The thing that puts off people who don't like showers is getting their head wet. Just set the shower head lower down so this doesn't happen.

Thanks for the replies . Major building work is off the cards as my mum has had a stroke so until we know how much she gets back we wont know whats needed . I'm looking at something to get her into a bath as thats what she likes rather than a shower . I've ended up going for the one i linked too as i spoke to the betterlife rep and he said that one or the next one up where the best sellers . The next one up didnt have the transfer platforms that she will need for now . He also told me that if its for a medical condition i could have the VAT off so i added the cushions

Just an update on this for anyone in the same situation .
I ended up buying the lift from Better life http://www.betterlifehealthcare.com/view/mountway-splash-lightweight-bath-lift/9463/ with the VAT discount for a medical condition . I contacted the OT department that are taking care of her to let them know a dry run had been done and they switched shifts so a female was there to help her have her first bath since her stroke .
My Mums bath is the shortest deepest bath I have ever been in but the lift works fine . The back doesn't tilt , think about if you need that as its an extra few hundred £ and may put you off buying a lift . Personally and according to Mum , she wouldn't like that and I dont think I would if my body isn't working properly .
The transfer tables are the main thing with this as it allows my Mum to sit on the edge of the bath and slide herself across . Then lower herself into the water .
I will update if anything changes .
