An interesting game which I've just seen on another forum.

Starting Value: 25

If you are male then you would subtract one to the total, if you are female you add one to the total.
The aim of the game is that the men need to get the total down to 0 before the women can get it up to 50.

Example:

Male: 24
Male: 23
Female: 24

I'll start us off, 24
See, this is where the world has gone wrong. Here we have an arbitrary value (25) is that an age, a size or what? it is not clear and many people over 30 are confused. If women add one and men take away one, people like classic 33 are going hither and thither looking for the logic. Also, from a male POV how come women end up with 50 and us blokes get 0? I know this is just like real life but what is the point?
And when you say you will start us off how typical is that?
Male: Bench press 300 75 lbs

I am not sure that you have entirely understood the point of this thread?

The value of 25 is simply that, a starting value, this value could of been 50, it could of been 100 but due to the demographics of the forum and the number of active members I decided it should be on the lower end of the infinite spectrum of potential values.

In your example, you suggested that people such as classic33 would have difficulties in answering however when he posted an answer he seemed to have no issues.

Why do males subtract and females add to this value? No particular reason, it could of been the other way around however it has to be one or the other. If I had suggested that females subtract and males add would there be the same sort of objection?

It seems that you're trying to create a case of political correctness for something which doesn't need it.
Would it of been better if I said instead of adding or subtracting, both male and females should just post the value of 25 to make it "equal"?

Well this degraded quickly.....

I'm not sure entirely what you expected, it is a forum game after all... not an A rated production?
You do have the remainder of CC, assuming the 'Forum Games' section isn't your cup of tea.

Ah you see Octet, you assumed that the subset of people who like cycling and use chat forums are all friendly....

Can we only have one go each?

I can see how one couldn't ever get enough of it, but rules is rules.

Which number base is used for counting?

Decima or hexadecimal.

It will have a bearing on what happens when the last digit is a 9 when adding 1 and 0 when subtracting 1.

Why not use binary as the digit paterns are more visually interesting than decimal and hexadecimal numbers.
