screwed up big time, screwed in crank bolt in crank side of BB and it sheared off! now i have a few options.

1> Drill out thread in BB axle

2> Remove 'old' BB bin it & replace with new threadless BB (there is a reason for this)

3> send frame off to Argos get them to remove it and install new thread & BB.

4> down tools and go to the pub. (i did this yesterday!)

any thoughts?

The remnant might not be that tight inside the BB spindle, you can either try getting it out yourself (how depends on shape of the shear and whether any bit is sticking out) or take it to your LBS. If the BB has to be junked for some other reason then there is probably no point trying to extract the broken bolt.

On the other hand you can simply stay in the pub!

There's several ways of getting the stud out, some easy, some hard depending how tight it is (as RAFN says), but most require some moderately special tools.
Pilot hole (say 6mm) and a stud extractor.
If its really loose, you can sometimes tease it out with a pointy object..if as RAFN says there's a bit of the broken stud that'll allow you to work against.
Is the stud protruding beyond the axle, hacksaw a slot and use a screwdriver.

They're always a bit hit and miss, some studs are so tight that you'll break a stud extractor, some are so loose you can sometimes just tease them out.
