Dogtrousers

Lefty tighty. Get it righty.
The Beeb only televise 5 or 6 of the stages, there are loads of other ones. Having stewarded there the last couple of years the punters are of a whole age range, loads of younger folk, who go to see other stuff rather than some of the past it acts.

Some friends of mine work as litter pickers there every year - and we end up doing cat and dog sitting. Attending it would be very much not my thing but I really enjoy watching it on telly.

The government has said it "strongly condemns" comments made by English punk duo Bob Vylan during their Glastonbury set earlier today, which was broadcast live on BBC iPlayer.

Rapper Bobby Vylan led chants of "free, free Palestine" and "death, death to the IDF [Israel Defense Forces]" during the duo's set, which came just before Kneecap's on the West Holts stage.

The government tells PA news agency: "The culture secretary has spoken to the BBC director general to seek an urgent explanation about what due diligence it carried out ahead of the Bob Vylan performance, and welcomes the decision not to re-broadcast it on BBC iPlayer."

Separately, Avon and Somerset Police says it is reviewing video footage of comments made by acts on the stage on Saturday.

The force says footage "will be assessed by officers to determine whether any offences may have been committed that would require a criminal investigation".

I'm trying to work out how there has been a miscarriage of justice when the bloke hasn't even had his trial yet.

Can anyone explain to me the obsession the BBC has with Glastonbury ? The BBC webpage has 13 separate articles about the festival on it's front page and that doesn't include scrolling left and right. I understand it is popular, I even went in the mid 1980's, but honestly, does the majority of the population care, or even know it is on ? I find it peculiar to say the least - does the BBC hold shares in the company that runs it or something ?

Lock of sucking up going on.

And yet Kneecap’s set will be available on iPlayer. 😂

Is the set on Iplayer edited?
Does it include the chants about Starmer?
I genuinely don’t know.

I don’t know if it’s edited either. I read they’d announced the decision to only show them on iPlayer before they’d been on stage, so I guess it’s nothing to do with what they chanted about Starmer.

The contrast between Niel Young and Charlie CCX could be much greater.

one is hitting hard. The other is just dull.
