Better Glasto than the constant flipping footie obsession... or tennis or whatever other activity involving punting a ball about a field with painted lines on it. I quite like the vibe. If it was my money it'd probably be Download but it's ok. Currently quite enjoying Neil Young with a single malt. Never really caught his stuff before.

Absolutely, Neil Young has always been slightly polarizing, you either love his music slightly obsessively or find it a bit "meh".

Pulp were great, have to admit I was completely blown away by Self Esteem last night. Not usually my type of music but her set was really powerful.

Pulp were great, have to admit I was completely blown away by Self Esteem last night. Not usually my type of music but her set was really powerful.

I'm definitely in the meh camp with Neil Young. One of my best mates at uni was a big fan but he never converted me.

Yeah Self Esteem set was great.

My wife is a big fan of Self Esteem (also of Kneecap btw but I'm steering clear of that subject) from the fact that she listens to a lot of Radio 6, which is also in Glasto-frenzy at the moment.

I was really enjoying Ezra Collective when I sat on the remote, changing channel and losing my live pause buffer. The firstest of first world problems

All good stuff but it still wouldn't persuade me to sleep in a tent.

Not watched Neil Young or Charli XCX yet, will catch up later. Not a Young fan as such but as with most I like a couple of his songs.

Best so far at Glasto for me has been Alanis Morissette, I also thought Gary Numan was good although mid afternoon not really his slot. After dark would suit better but anyway.
Edit : I did like Wet Leg, they were good on Friday.
Pulp were OK but I'm not a fan. Brandi Caryle was just boring to me but all down to personal taste.
I don't think the headline acts have been as stellar as in past but again that is down entirely to personal taste.

One omission over the years is Mark Knopfler has never played there which is a shame, I'd definitely watch him.

Dunno but apparently he hasn't either with Dire Straits or as a solo artist. As you say, he must surely been asked to do it.

I reckon the festival expects any artist to beg for a slot in return for a lacklustre fee... and many artists just aren't interested.
