Yes. I enjoy spannering, but no ideological objection to difrerent sources of power. Ideally id want jet turbine or nuclear, but battery power would be fine.

Maybe the first time
but then they had a warning - normally several
but maybe once if it is truly exceptional - such as on the bread line and needs the car to get someone to hospital
but when you hear of people getting this letoff several times
especially celebrities that clearly have money as well
then it is totally unjustifiable

Shouldn't have hardship mitigation at all.
Its very difficult to get a ban, requiring either regular sustained offending (as per Blinky's fellow), or one God almighty enormous piece of offending.
Anyone prepared to put such effort into getting a ban has ample opportunity to consider the consequences of their actions vis a vis hardship.
And other road users right not to be maimed or killed by road criminals should trump any hardship mitigation.

Having ridden a couple of battery powered motorcycles I can say categorically that I would never buy one. The amount of torque available from the moment you crack the throttle open is, for an old bugger like me, positively scary. I doubt I would live long enough to actually enjoy it so I'll stick with my 1973 Royal Enfield Interceptor thank you very much

I went straight from being a learner on a KMX125 straight to a GSXR1100. I soon figured out that the throttle goes in 2 directions.

My cousin was on his 5th car before the found that the car throttle had more than 2 positions
which was strange for an expert car mechanic
but he was partly an expert due to fixing his own cars!!

Couple of days ago I got to appreciate how Police ignore the issue.
Rural 1½ lane road uphill at about 3% and I was pedalling up at 9 mph and suddenly wooosh, two "sit-up and beg" cyclists hammered past at >20 mph and they weren't even trying, just sitting like they were coasting ... except they were being followed maybe 30m behind by a Police car. My immediate through "they are getting done" except they weren't. Police car must have passed them or turned off as next glance I got of them in the distance and no Police car.

Your average bobby isnt authorised to pursue a two wheeler or request one to stop.
Too much risk of them hurting themselves if they fail to stop, and seeing as criminals aren't allowed to suffer the consequences or their own decision making alone the bobby concerned risks prosecution.
This is the actual reason I quit roads policing. Its a dull story, but if anyone is interested...

A bloke I know was riding on the motorway with his wife on the back when another bike passed him doing stupid speed, next thing he knew was a police car rammed him from behind causing him to break a leg and his wife to break both legs and an arm. Not only that but he was prosecuted and banned for a year and fined over a grand with the police refusing to believe that he wasn't the speeding motorcyclist and as he put it if he went over 70mph his wife would start hitting him in the kidneys
