i did the beard thing when i was in late teens , great fun you save all those food bits for ron in it !

wouldnt be allowed now though

I also grow mine in my late teens; I got feed-up with being asked in pubs if I was over 18. X years later, where X is a large number, I don't think that would be a problem now. But Mrs ArDee likes breads, has never seen me without one and won't allow me to shave it off. She says that she prefers it that way, she'd be able to see too much of my face without a bread!
“I’m growing a beard.” I told my boss on Friday.

“Oh no you’re not.” she said.

That’s me told. 4 day stubble shaved off this morning.
 Is she Ross Perot?

Save your pogonic efforts for a holiday period and present it as a fait accompli.

I did that when I turned up at school after the summer break with a beard, gelled hair and an embryonic pony tail. I had every intention of shaving and having a hair cut that evening, it was a training day, until the prim and proper power dressed deputy head mistress approached me and hissed

'I trust that your hairstyle is a temporary measure'

'Nope' was my instant, defiant and succinct response.

She didn't speak to me for three months until I got bored with the haircare routine and turned up with a clean shaven face and number three cut.

Because it looks like you can't be bothered.

Hubby has a beard. He shaved it off once and just left a dodgy moustach. Horrendous couple of weeks before the beard grew back.
He used to have a nice Van Dyke, but of late he has been depressed so the beard has become the full Captain Haddock. Very un-appealing. I have asked nicely, I have nagged, I have left the clippers out with a nice #40 blade on (.3mm, fine for getting the bulk of the fluff off). Now I am just really irritated by it. He is rapidly turning into David Bellamy and its not a good look.
