it's a fair try, little disappointing the appeal for more cycle paths, but at least they did highlight the uselessness of existing ones, and the dangers of them being off the ebaten track. Shame about the girl from the rougher neighbourhood not being able to keep going with the cycling. She seemed to come under a lot more negative peer pressure than the others.
Thought the cameraman/editor were less than subtle with their 'tits in motion' shot part way through.
Did seem to lack a bit of reality, no hissing rain shots etc, bit overall I thought it was positive. Not surprised to see the second comment on the video was a rant about no safety gear or helmets. fully expected the person to go on to complain about young girls flaunting themselves etc.

My GF was just like they were at the beginning of the first film, hated the idea of cycling because 'it's not good for her image'. Few months later and a nice pretty bike and she uses it to ride into uni when the warmer months arrive, as well as all summer around the villages! Not ready to lycra up yet though... unfortunately

Aren't they just, £160 for a 5 speed hub gear, buy one per year and forget about replacing tyres, tubes, brake blocks etc. Get two or three years out of one and you're laughing.

Those Dutch style bikes are so perfect for city riding, you can see in one shot how easy it is to get aboard and get moving. I'm sure that for a lot of young women there's a fear of the mounting and dismounting and an accidental flash or "wardrobe accident". I remember taking a GF bouldering at Fontainebleau, she was a fit girl and she did quite well but she said afterwards that she had found it quite difficult at first to adjust to being so "dynamic" with her limbs. Of course she really enjoyed the experience.

There's a £99 base model (seems to be three speed derailleur of some sort) going right up to (iirc) an £899 model with hub dynamo, (I think hub gears) &c. They even do a really nice looking kids (24" wheel) version with hub dynamo, guards, rack & lights.
They sold all 3 of the £350 model they had on display in the half hour we were there on our visit.
