Itching to get back on my bike's

Over the last few weeks i have spend quite a few hours visiting my other half in hospital for one reason and another .
The ward she is on at the moment for the last couple of days must have a new person in one of the 4 beds at least twice a day .
Talk about busy every day the ward has a couple of new faces when i visit at lunch time and then again at night others are getting ready to go home and then during the night new patients turn up and not very quietly either

That must be very disruptive, especially at night. It sounds like a very busy ward. Seeing other people being discharged must be hard too, when she has been in hospital so long.
I hope that things are are on the mend or going the right way at least. You won't be getting much rest if you are visiting twice a day. Make sure you are looking after yourself too, so you can be at your best for your other half.

The worst thing about a long stay in hospital is the constant disturbance..
you get woken constantly by all the goings on..and then the nurse awakens you to se if your ok..
I'd go private if i could afford it..

I would also hate it but my MIL was admitted for a week and she loved it; the constant attention, the cups of tea and the kindness and the three other patients and their comings and goings. She could even see the helicopter pad and watch the helicopters coming and going.

You do get that in a private hospital too, still get noise from the corridor. I was lucky on Wednesday being in room at entrance to ward rather than middle. Only one night.

I found it impossible to get a good night's sleep. I had over a week where I was half awake most of the nighttimes and thus half asleep most of the daytimes. I would prefer a private room and would probably use earplugs if I had to try to sleep in hospital again.

Your right my mum recently had an op in a private hospital and she said it was really noisy and although its good to always have somebody checking in on you it does disturb you.

Hope your other half is on the mend

She was on an Assessment/Admissions ward then?

We have Medical, & Surgical, wards for this purpose, & our AAU (Acute Assessment Unit) has 56 beds, a mixture of single rooms & 4-bedded bays

Sympathies to you and your wife, biggs62. Hope all goes well for both your families.

Thanks @Alan H the light is getting nearer to the tunnel.

You often get day cases, and depending upon the patient, can indeed end up on your ward. We had some right 'cases'. I was glad to get out in the end.

Hope your wife is out soon.

My sympathies.
It's not nice being in hospital in the first place but all the noise and disruption can make you feel worse.
Hope your wife is well and home soon.
Best wishes x
