I don't drink tea so I do not know about such things, but you cannot beat a good pint of John Smiths or Tetleys.

That used to be the case - John Smith's Magnet in particular was a great beer - but sadly, both are nowadays bland mass market beers. Try Timothy Taylors or Kelham Island beers.

OK my apologies to the elephant. I think I searched for tea in a thread rather than all the forums. I am still trying to get the hang of this blogging/forum lark. Perhaps the big brother of cycle chat can move my thread to where it should be?

If not then I guess I have to pay the forfeit - a virtual cuppa for each contributer

Yes, but carefully, and it depends on the biscuit. Ginger Nuts are best. In fact, they are hard to eat without dunking!

And that Tea? thread - it's just a baby, it's already tripped over the 10,000 posts level once and been reset (I think, or 100,000, or something like that...)

I quite agree. I certainly wouldn't dunk biscuits in beer.

Twinings Everyday has made its way into Mrs B and my repertoire of teas recently. Haven't had a duff cuppa in ages. Goes very nicely with scones / carrot cake too.

London CC Young's pub cycling tour

Next time you're in London, give us a shout. We'll, inc.Titan, Tollers (unless he's moved abroad by then), and all others have a London CC Young's pub cycling tour.

In the 1970 Fullers, Smith and Turner, brewers of the wonderful aforementioned London Pride ran a promo campaign whereby they issued us customers a 'passport' listing all their pubs. The mission was to visit every Fullers owned pub and have a pint in each within a year.

There were over a 100 outlets in total and a gang of us completed this challenge and in so doing won a specially commissioned tankard, tie and a tour of the brewery (a liver transplant might have been more beneficial).

As for Youngs; I know how popular it is but its never floated my boat and as I don't drink anyway I would probably only guard the bikes for you drinkers.

But if you were to promise me a cup of tea in, say, Fortnum and Masons afterwards then I might oblige.
