There's hundreds of these titles around, I've always managed to avoid buying one up until I bought Tim Webb and Joris Pattyn's book '100 Belgian Beers To Try Before You Die' - it was on offer and anyway I'm treating it more as '100 Belgian Beers to try Before You're Completely Pissed'.

List books can get a bit daft and they're often lazy, the title certainly is now there's so many of them.

These titles almost give the impression there are folk ticking off items from lists before they can finally shuffle off knowing their life is complete.

And unless there's one called '100 Things to do after you Die', such as decompose or be scattered, they're all going to be things to do, see, hear, etc. before you die!

Have a look at the "First Draughts" cartoon in the latest issue of Private Eye. Let's see if I can find a link ...

My favourite is "100 poisons to try before you die" - it's on the bookshelf next to "100 capital punishments to try before you die".

100 Greatest Cycling Climbs in the UK is pretty good but the author doesn't stipulate whether or not you need to die after you've completed them all.
