Thinking of a giro 20 or cafe - but there is performer recumbent on ebay which looks interesting....

Any thoughts or know of anyone selling such a machine

UK - Midlands based.

If I understand the post right, the bike here is located in the UK. There's a rare recumbent for £500 (but a good price for a beginner)

He normally has a range of secondhand recumbent's to try and see which one/type you get on with best.
You can book a morning to try out a load of different ones.

Ive already been - I liked the bachetta cafe.- from that also the giro 20 may be feasible

Problem is riding on the flats in little thetford - is a totally different ball game to the traffic and hills where I live....I am bit reluctant to sink £700-800 into something that I am not sure will justify that expenditure.

I can well see why you might be reluctant to spend a considerable sum on your first 'bent, not really knowing whether you will take to it. However, if you buy secondhand and let someone else suffer the initial depreciation from new, a used 'bent can be a good purchase. If looked after, it may fetch very nearly what you paid for it if you come to sell it. I even made a small profit on my first two-wheeled 'bent when I sold it on after two years of ownership, so an experimental purchase need not turn out to be a disaster if you don't take to 'bent riding.
