Because I do.

I thought this site was supposed to be 'pro cycling', not 'anti car' ?

it's cheeky, but its allowed. I pop in the most convenient natural gap near the front of the queue rather than right at the front. Just remember to say thanks to the driver behind. I filter on really long queues but not shorter queues. I'm less likely to filter at lights. If there is an ASL I will still take the back of queue in primary if i know I'll make it through the next green. I only filter to an ASL if the queue is longer than one cycle of lights but where i live and on my commute i rarely have to.

I'm both...

Moton is a word used to describe moronic motorists. Not all motorists are moronic of course. Just 99% of them!

If that many were anti cyclist, you'd or I would not get out of the end of the road in one piece...tarring with such a broad brush is like saying all cyclists RLJ, pavement cycle etc etc...I expect the ignorance from a few shallow thinking drivers, but not from enthusiastic cyclists.

I think generally cars are a overall a bad thing, the people that drive them may or may not be nobbers.

Perspective is a helluva thing.

nowt wrong with sensible considerate and assertive filtering, I try not to be obnoxious or rude and will slot into the line when the lights change and the queue starts moving. There is always a gap opens up as the cars move and I've never had so much as a beep or waggly hand sign.

I'll always stop behind the big stuff if its near the front or a potential turn point

So you've never been in this situation - overtaking a slow moving car, coming up to, say, a red light. A queue of cars in front of you, with gaps between them There's plenty of room to go past and slip in behind the next car. Driver sees you in his mirror, puts his foot down and closes the gap, just because he can't bear to be behind a cyclist? That's never happened to you?
Depending on how many cars on the approach to the red light I'm either in primary in the queue of traffic or at the very front.
How do you get to the front?

More commonly I get the filtering along the left hand side say, so a car deliberately moves to the left blocking that gap ... and of course opening the gap on the other side ... I make a point of using the gap they have so kindly opened for me and smiling nicely as I pass them:whistle:.

I do exactly the same!! Some drivers really don't think it through!
