Belt-Drive single speed

EdIt: i'm more interested in the belt-drive tech than Shand's specifically. eg. if they have no chain, do they have a chainset??

Saw one of these on Satyrday's Audax - seemed to go alright!

Apart from some extra use of carbon-fibre(spit!), it seemed like a possible glimpse into the future. Anyone know 'owt about them?

[I can't see any other discussion - expect about a "microbike" in 2009]

Looks lovely, 8 speed hub gear...

It does.

... and one of the more affordable bikes.
It is the only frame made in Taiwan. The others are welded in Scotland!

Out of stock too.

Ah - that explains the huge difference!

The belt-drive rider said they used switchable drop-out bits/thingies to make the build more modular/affordable. It looked a conventional frame shape to this layman. Oh, and an adjustable (eccentric?) bottom-bracket, which I think is common for single-speed type contraptions.
