Yes, in 2013 with knee deep snow and estimated 90mph winds at the top. Had to crawl to the peak as standing was impossible. Did Snowdon via Miners and Pyg in 2012, staying at Pen-Y-Gwryd hotel, and Scafell in 2011.

I've only been up the Ben once, long time ago before I really started walking in the hills. Always meant to go back and do one of the other routes, like Carn Mor Dearg but every time I was there, normally winter, the weather was just horrible and I tended to gravitate around Glencoe, the Three Sisters area and the Aonach Eagach.

Thought you were supposed to try & do all three within 24 hours?

Mrs Gti and I went up it via the arete on our honeymoon. On top we met a middle-aged lady in a summer frock, wearing sandals and carrying some stuff in a plastic bag. On the way down the tourist path we overtook a couple, he looking fed up and she sobbing in pain because her open, high-heeled sandals, which had been fine going up, were killing her feet going down. We ran almost all the way down in our big boots and plunged our hot bruised feet into the burn.

I used to do a bit of Fell Running, I never did the Nevis Race but was always amazed at the times when you compare them to hiking it.

We got about a third of he way up until we hit the cloud base and then detoured because it was just grim, the moisture was coming in horizontal and winds on top were being recorded at 70mph. We won't be going back

Walked up there in 1986. It was about a fortnight after having my appendix removed and I really didn't fancy it but was dating a bit of a numpty at the time and it was 'anything for a quiet life' sort of decision.
I am unlikely to want to stomp up there again. Full of people dropping litter all over the place and complaining about the lack of bins!

The guys and girls that do this are beyond fast! Some come down in a hell of a state.

My fastest ever 'down' was around 1hr 20mins and that was hard enough plus the race competitors start/finish way back beyond Achintee Farm.

I've been up around 35 times and this fella was with me a dozen or so of those (wish he was still with me now). BN summit via CMD Arete - last two hours completed in dark (short daylight hours).
