You also have to factor in wood swell and shrinkage..a standard 150x18 may be 142x16 when boan dry...or 160x20 wet through..deck boards are all over the place when you buy them..from a timber yard..
Dry stored wood is more accurate but grows when outside.and why you see decks with huge gaps or warped to hell due to fitted not knowing his stuff..diy as a rule
