In one picture I put a piece of a straw on the flanges, and it is long enough to sit on top of them. But on the other side of the hub I can fit the straw in between the flanges, and there is extra space. Also the skinny part of the hub in between the flanges appears slightly bent, and there is a bulge going around it. This bulge is more prominate on the side with narrow flanges. Could this lead to problems with the wheel?

:welcome: When the wheel is secure in the dropouts and the nuts tight (or the QR lever tight), does the rim show a wobble from side to side (eg getting closer to and then farther away from the brake block(s)?
If not, what has piqued your concern?
