I've mentioned before that once a week (actually once every 9 days because of my work Rota) I have a day off from exercise - no cycling, no gym, nothing more strenuous than a walk with the dog or a gentle stroll to the Vampire and Virgin for a Guinness.
It's something I've always done to give my joints and tendons a rest, and any minor injuries a chance to heal or to abate before they become symptomatic.
To me it just seemed a sensible thing to do, though I've never researched the wiseness of the routine. Does anyone else do this? Is there any science behind it? Am I just turning into a woos?
