I like the Fizik Soft touch tape - nice and grippy, even when wet.

Last time I replaced cables I used a Jagwire pro racer cable kit, the cables are stable and come with a ptfe coating. I have been enjoying very reliable shifting since.

Picked up a new build yesterday and have specced jagwire (LBS recommendation) and 2.5mm lizard skin bar tape. I have ridden just under 50 miles today, the bar tape is lovely and I will get it on the best bike when that needs changing. The shifting in the bike is also wonderful, the best I have ever known from the gruppo - I moved the gruppo from old bike to new one.

I have Brooks bar tape on my Surly. Feels good and stays perfect even with my bike standing outside all the time.
Cables are "standard" shimano cables. Had them on for 1,5 year now. No problem what so ever.

lots to choose from with everyone having their own favourites ,but my new bike has bontrager gel tape and is very comfortable and looks like it's going to last longer than the arundel tape on my other bike .:ninja:

I tried the Lizard Skins a couple of years back and at the time they only had one type. Wore through on top of the bar corners behind the hoods within a few rides. Looked and felt great though. May try the thicker one. Is it tougher?

I have covered around 70 miles now since getting some lizard skin bar tape on Wednesday, looks new so far. Happy to report back in a while if you want, but I'll probably need reminding. I have got the mid thickness 2.m version in black.

I want some 2.5 or even 3.2 lizards in the grey colour but CRC and wiggle only do it in the 1.8mm thickness. Don't want black as my bike is white with grey graphics. ........looks like it's gonna have to be white !

Which will end up grey anyway I suppose. Anyone know what the 1.8 is like for cushioning ?
