Most doubles would have been better had they been released as a single album.

Ok, so it's not exactly oozing street cred but this never fails to raise my spirits.

Rainbow live on stage

Saw them live at the Rainbow theatre in North London late 70s: fell asleep during the concert. The best bit was when Solsbury Hill was played over the pa system during the interval.

Just realised that out of my three suggestions by The Mothers, Hampton Grease Band and Frankie... they were all double debut albums... how many other bands have managed to wangle a double LP as their debut release?

Best Elton John album has to be this one. I had it and played it to death when it came out (about '73)

Although the old queen is a bit of a joke these days he deserves an award for not dying of a drug overdose or aids.

Just a thought - he was not even "out" when this album cover was around!
