Gabriela Quintero of Rodrigo y Gabriela is my favourite by far. The sounds she can get out of an acoustic guitar are amazing. Part guitar, part drum, part I don't know what.
Unfortunately almost all videos of her solos have been filmed by audience members and have audio quality issues as a result.

In pure technical ability, you'll struggle to find anyone who beats this:

Check out her other shreddies, Arpeggios from Hell is ace !

No discussion about female guitarist can be complete with mention of Carol Kaye who was a session musician who played on literally thousands of tracks with artists like The Beach Boys, Frank Zappa, Sonny & Cher and many others:

She played bass mainly:

took a while.

I saw this band playing in a local pub about 10 years ago. As far as their songs go, they're rather average, but the bass guitar player is by far one of the best I've ever seen (blokes included).

Apart from the car crash ending I liked that. Quite a lot.

I could and sometimes do listen to this over and over again. Mainly because it's not long enough. Don't they do an extended version?

I can't play a note, but if someone said 'you'll wake up one day and miraculously be able to play two tunes on a guitar',i'd go for this one and Jimi Hendrix's Voodoo Child.:becool:

pedantically... she's a bass guitar player ^_^
4 strings, EADG, octave down = electric bass. 6 strings, EADGBE, octave down = bass guitar.
